Nairobi – Capital city of Kenya. I had 13 hours of transit so i decided to visit the city on a short trip. I choose to visit Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre during this transit time. Both places were good but overcrowded even on a weekday.
Giraffe Centre
This center got a entrance fee to go inside. Am not sure how much it is as it is part of my tour package. Once we enter they give a cover full of snack which we can give to Giraffe. There was a hut made in there on which we can stand and feed the Giraffe. It was sweet to get so close to Giraffe. They come near to us as soon as they see food in our hand. Some people kiss them and took pictures.
Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
This elephant orphanage adopts baby elephants from wild if they found alone with out its mother elephant. They fed them with custom made milk everyday at 11 AM. And to see this event plenty of people assemble here. There was a entry fee to enter this orphanage. The feeding process takes approximately 1 hour and those elephants play around there after drinking milk.
